Nani is in full form with back to back hits. After ‘Nenu Local’ and ‘Ninnu Kori’, he comes up with his third movie MCA this year. Sai Pallavi played the female lead after the huge success of ‘Fidaa’. The movie is produced by Dil Raju and is the sixth film this year from the production house. The movie has huge hype much before the release. The advance bookings of the movie are on par with a big star’s movie which proves it.
Nani proved to be the strength again to the movie as he does usually. He performed very well and naturally. He managed to do funny scenes and serious action scenes equally well. Sai Pallavi too impressed yet again with her acting but does not have much importance for her role. Bhumika made a good comeback with a prominent role in the movie. Other characters like Rajiv Kanakala, Priyadarshi,Subhalekha Sudhakar,Naresh, Vijay etc are just ok and dont have much importance.
Cinematography is decent and showcased good locations. Music by Devisri Prasad is not so impressive this time. Editing is decent enough. Director Sriram Venu picked a story which does not have much novelty in it. Its a very old story with lots of predictability. He managed to carry the film with the characterisation of Nani but did not create much impact. Few emotional scenes are shot well though. The first half of the movie proceeds in a funny way and the later half gets serious proceedings all over. The illogical and unconvincing drama further spoiled the excitement. Songs disturbed the flow of the movie big time. Dil Raju’s production values are average and a successful producer chosing this kind of routine stories is questionable.
Overall, MCA has nothing new to showcase. Its old age story and predictable proceedings throughout the movie doesn’t really help it though a bankable star like Nani is present in the movie.
