After back to back super hits, Nani has teamed up with Merlapaka Gandhi for Krishnarjuna Yuddham. This is the second time Nani is playing a dual role after ‘Gentleman’. Anupama Parameswaran and Ruksar Meer played the female leads.
Nani played two completely contrast roles. Of them, he is very good in the role of Village guy and shines. The other role of a Rockstar is just okay and seems not so perfect fit for him. Anupama and Ruksar looked beautiful but has not much scope to perform in the movie. Brahmaji provided good laughs.
The Production Values of the movie are rich. Cinematography by Karthik Ghattamaneni is very good. Editing could have been more crispier especially in the second half. Music is Okay for couple of songs and background score is just Okay. The basic story of the movie is revealed in the first few minutes of the movie itself. Later the director just took time to establish the characters in the first half with comedy scenes in between. The comedy scenes between Brahmaji and Devadarshini worked out well and made the first half a bit interesting. But the latter half just loses its track and did not hold any minimum interest of audience towards the movie. The fights look like its intended to show Nani as an action star. Then comes the duet from nowhere before the climax which seems to be very forcible.
Overall, KAY falls flat with weak narration which does not engage audience even though it has some decent comedy in the first half.
Pros:
Nani as Krishna
Dhari Choodu song
Comedy
Cons:
Second Half
Screenplay,
Direction
Weak narration
Rating : 2.5/5
