Paisa Vasool brings in Nandamuri Balakrishna and Puri Jagannadh together for the first time in their careers. It also marks Balakrishna’s 101 movie. Shriya Saran, Musskan and Kyra Dutt are seen shaking legs with Balakrishna. Paisa Vasool also has Kabir Bedi, Vikramjeet and Prudhvi Raj in other prominent roles. There has been immense speculation in trade circles right from the day this project is announced. After the teasers and theatrical trailers release, the expectations grew manifold. Puri’s recent movies didn’t click at box office. Has Paisa Vasool given him the much needed break, let’s see?
Paisa Vasool is all about Balakrishna’s (Theda Singh) take on the anti social elements in his unique style. The basic plot has resemblance to Puri’s yester years blockbuster hit Pokiri. Who is Theda Singh and what he does to nail down Bob Marley (Vikramjeet) forms the basic essence of Paisa Vasool.
Balakrishna as Theda Singh excelled with his dialogues and is the only saving grace of Paisa Vasool among the cast. Shriya Saran was ok. Musskan and Kyra Dutt were average in their roles. Kabir Bedi and the rest of villain gang is nothing to rave about. Comedy portions seemed out of sync.
Among Puri Jagannadh Story, Screenplay, Dialogues and Direction, his dialogues have been praise worthy while rest of the departments he handled seemed routine. It is high time he change the villain gang and their routine slang. Music and background score by Anup Rubens is good and cinematography by Mukesh G is nice. Editing by Junaid Siddiqui could have been better for this 2 hour 20 minute movie. Production values by Bhavya Creations are filled with grandeur. Overall, Paisa Vasool is another routine fare from Puri Jagannadh who is copying from his own movies.
Pros:
· Balakrishna Punch Dialogues
· Cinematography
· Music and Background Score
Cons:
· Predictability Factor
· Many illogical scenes
· Direction
· Age Old Screenplay
· Villain Gang
Box-Office Analysis: Paisa Vasool caters to Balakrishna Fans and might not go well with the rest of audience.
