Mahanubhavudu: Not really a Mahanubhavudu

Mahanubhavudu starring Sharwanand and Mehreen Pirzada is produced by Vamsi and Pramod under UV Creations banner. Written and directed by Maruthi Dasari, this is the third movie for Sharwa with UV Creations. His earlier movies Run Raja Run and Express Raj were hits at the box office. Music and Background score are rendered by SS Thaman while Cinematography is handled by Nizar Shafi. Sharwanand started this year with a blockbuster hit in the form of Shatamanam Bhavathi and his next release Radha could not repeat the success story. Will Mahanubhavudu bring him back to success ladder? Let’s see.

Anand (Sharwa) suffers from a rare disease known as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder for Cleanliness where he wants to see everything neat and clean. He falls in love with Meghana (Mehreen). The rest of the story is all about how Anand faces issues due to his disorder and how he comes out of it.

Sharwanand has matured as an actor and has given a riveting performance. His histrionics as the disordered person is hilarious and has got the emotions right. Mehreen is beautiful and had a full length role. She excelled in her role. Nassar was good as Mehreen’s father. Venella Kishore is ok and Venu performed well in a short role. Rest of the cast were apt in their roles.

Writing and Direction by Maruthi Dasari is good. He has made it simple with smooth narration and got his basics right in terms of cinematography and music. Screenplay is smooth yet predictable right from the beginning of the movie. Though the movie has resemblance to his earlier Bhale Bhale Magadivoyi, Mahanubhavudu has its own moments.
Maruthi is successful in generating comedy based on Lead’s disease though gone overboard sometimes.

Music and background score by S.S.Thaman is praise worthy. However, the placements of the songs in the movie disturbed the flow of the movie. Cinematography by Nizar Shafi is good. Editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is neat and crisp. Production values by UV Creations are grand. All the frames looked rich and glossy.

Pros:
· Background Score especially in climax fight
· Cinematography
· Smooth narration
· Decent comedy

Cons:
· Song Placements
· Predictable factor
· First half city and Second half village type of routine screenplay

Box-Office Analysis: Mahanubhavudu is a average one time watch for its decent comedy and smooth narration.
