‘Baahubali 2’ Review : Grand and Emotional!

The most awaited movie ‘Baahubali 2’ has finally arrived with huge hype and massive release all over the world. Directed by SS Rajamouli, the movie is expected to be high on emotions, action, visual grandeur and yes it is.

The scale of part 2 is much higher than the part 1. Its more of emotions and drama. Prabhas is very good in both roles he played especially of Amarendra Baahubali. His screen presence is terrific. This will be his best and memorable role. Rana as villian is excellent and looked very cruel. Both of them looked very royal. Anushka as Devasena is stunning and has got good charecterisation. Ramya Krishna is powerful as usual. Nasser in a cunning role did very well and is impressive. Satyaraj as Kattappa has more screen time with a scope different emotions.

Rajamouli is undoubtedly one of the best story teller. His past movies are all examples for this. The visuals are wonderful. However the story is a bit predictable. The comedy in the first half seems to be forced. Also the scenes involving the love track of Baahubali and Devasena are not much impressive. Cinematography by Senthil is excellent. Background score by Keeravani is good and elevated the scenes especially in the pre-interval episodes. Songs are ok. ‘Saahore’and ‘Hamsa Nava’ songs are shot well. Screenplay and Direction are good yet predictable at times. Editing is decent. Sound design is good.

The question ‘Why Kattappa Killed Baahubali’ is answered in a good way. The introduction of Prabhas, the pre-interval scenes and few scenes showing Rana and Nasser’s cruelty and cunningness are worth mentioning. The climax fight between Prabhas and Rana seems to be far from reality and is lengthy.

Overall, the movie is very good visually and on grand scale.

Pros:
Prabhas, Rana
Anushka, Nasser, Ramya krishna and other actors
Visuals
Interval bang
Cinematography
Rich production values
Art direction and costumes

Cons:
Length
Comedy
Predictable

Rating : 3.25/5
